War Sucks
(and then your kids pay for it)
Ian Gray - January 2005
I've always detested war. It has always
amazed me that humans will kill each other over something
as isolated and nebulous as the neural activity in their
brain tissue. I was reminded just how much I hate war
recently as I watched my 22 year-old nephew prepare
to get shipped off to Iraq, wondering if the U.S. Army
would indeed take care of his wife and two toddlers
by returning them to the states from Germany, so they's
be closer to family while he served, and perhaps making
sure they were taken care of if he died defending the
policies of the Bush administration and the U.S. government.
Over the past several years, especially
since the current administration dragged America (and
therefore me, I guess) into another war based on their
fat rich old white men policies, I began to feel more
and more queasy, more and more embarrassed, and finally,
very very angry. I've lived long enough to know that
we'll never end war, but in the meantime I thought maybe
I could do something to help clean up the mess it makes.
As I research via the web and through other correspondence,
we'll do our best to add useful anti-war links and content
here.
Peace, y'all.
